Josh was more than just a business owner—he was a friend, a neighbor, and a man whose presence brought warmth and kindness to everyone around him. His leadership at Wallburg Diner turned it into more than a restaurant; it became a gathering place filled with laughter, comfort, and a sense of home for many.

The Wallburg Diner shared the heartbreaking news, saying, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our owner, Josh Hartley. We are deeply grateful for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

Friends and family remember Josh as a devoted husband to his wife, Laura Hartley, and a proud father who cherished watching his children grow in faith and love. April Craven Rich reflected on their friendship, recalling treasured memories of growing up together and later watching their families share life in the same church. She wrote, “Your family has been a gift… I’m thankful we got to still be friends as ‘grown ups.’ Josh Hartley, you are going to be missed.”

A service to honor Josh’s life will be held at Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday, the 10th at 6:00 p.m., followed by visitation. The address is 6516 Old Greensboro Rd, Thomasville, NC 27360.

Josh’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of love, faith, and community will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
